The Jesuit Wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the Sierra Foothill League Championship showcasing depth, skill, and resilience across all weight classes. With all 10 of their competitors qualifying for Divisionals at Pleasant Grove High School next Saturday, the team's future looks extremely promising. Highlights of the tournament included historic individual performances and critical victories that have set the stage for continued success. 

At the upper weight class of 217 lbs, Logan Nguyen '25 emerged as the star of the competition. Nguyen secured first place with decisive pins and became Jesuit's first two-time league champion—a milestone that underscores his dominance and leadership on the mat. Not far behind, Xavier Pizano '25, competing at 167 lbs, fought hard throughout his matches to finish in second place, proving to be a key asset for the Marauders. 

In the mid-weight classes, Titus Kessler '28 (140 lbs) and Maximilian Troppmann '25 (177 lbs) both delivered strong performances, finishing in fourth place. Kessler impressed with a major decision win early in the tournament before falling just short in the medal matches. Similarly, Troppmann's resilience was evident as he battled through his bracket, ultimately finishing fourth after an intense series of matches. 

At the lighter weights, Campbell McDowell '27 (122 lbs) placed fourth with a well-executed fall in the quarterfinals. George Vlahos '26 (128 lbs) and Tristan Pizano '26 (159 lbs) each showed competitive spirit, finishing in fifth place. Despite a tough outing, Liam Padilla '28 (108 lbs), Maxwell Mendoza '28 (115 lbs), and Owen Groves '26 (192 lbs) demonstrated perseverance by finishing sixth and contributing to the team's overall effort. 

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of every competitor, Jesuit Wrestling qualified all 10 of their athletes for Divisionals—a tremendous achievement that speaks to the program's growth and commitment to excellence. 

With standout performances from Nguyen and Xavier Pizano leading the charge, along with critical wins from teammates across the roster, the Sierra Foothill League Championship was a success for Jesuit Wrestling. As the team now looks forward to Divisionals next Saturday at Pleasant Grove High School, the Marauders are poised to continue their momentum and build on these impressive results.
