On Saturday, December 6, 2025, seven members of Jesuit High School's cross-country program competed at the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) in Portland, Oregon, running under the team name Carmichael. The national championship brought together the top high school cross country programs from across the country for a grueling 5K race, and Jesuit's Marauders were proud to represent their school on the national stage.
Jesuit's team finished 14th overall, scoring 336 points, demonstrating both competitiveness and depth in a stacked national field. Kyle Jakary '26 led the team with a 72nd-place finish in 16:10.1, followed closely by Isaac Abbott '26 in 79th at 16:13.6. NXN is not only a competition; it's a chance for student-athletes to grow, build camaraderie, and learn from the best. NXN allows runners to gain national exposure while testing themselves against elite athletes from across the country. Coaches noted that the experience will serve as a foundation for future seasons, both for individual growth and team development.
Jesuit's cross country team capped off a remarkable season with their national appearance, reflecting excellence at every level—from state competitions to the national stage. Their dedication, teamwork, and resilience exemplify the spirit of Jesuit athletics. Congratulations to all the runners, coaches, and supporting community for an incredible season of hard work, achievement, and Marauder pride.
