Jesuit High School Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Class Honoring Legendary Team, Athletes, and Coaches

Jesuit High School is proud to announce the newest members of its Hall of Fame. The 2025 class celebrates teams, athletes, and coaches who have made outstanding contributions to Jesuit Athletics and who embody the spirit of Jesuit excellence. The inductees will be honored at the 2025 Hall of Fame Celebration on Thursday, October 25. The event will take place on campus before the varsity football game. This celebration is open to the entire community, giving alumni, families, and fans the chance to gather in recognition of our inductees.

Basketball Team 1992-1993

The 1992-1993 Basketball Team will be remembered as one of the greatest in school history. The team finished with a 35-2 record, the most wins ever in a single season at Jesuit. They captured NorCal, Section, and League titles, earning national attention and climbing as high as No. 5 in the USA Today national rankings. Along the way, the team defeated top programs from across the country and showcased the talent of its athletes, including Isaac Fontaine, who went on to the NBA, Gio Carmazzi, who later played in the NFL, and Ben Ammerman, Josh King, and Chris Griffin, who all earned regional honors for their outstanding performances.

1995-1996 Cross Country Team The 1995-1996 Cross Country Team is the only team in the program's history to finish undefeated, win a state championship, and dominate the statewide "merge" with the fastest overall time of the day. Their remarkable season capped off Jesuit's historic three-peat of state titles in 1993, 1994, and 1995. No opponent came within 30 points of the all season, and they finished ranking No. 3 in the country – the highest national ranking in program history. All seven top finishers went on to successful NCAA Division I careers at Stanford University, the University of California, Los Angeles, Washington State University, Wake Forest University, Yale University, and Santa Clara University, setting school records, earning spots on all-time lists, and even producing a future Olympian.

Louis Standfill '03 Among the individual honorees is Louis Standfill '03, who was inducted into the USA Rugby Hall of Fame in 2024. Stanfill made his USA Rugby debut in 2005 at the age of 19. He won five national championships at the University of California, Berkeley, earning 56 caps with the USA Eagles, and holds the title for the sixth-most caps of any USA Eagle all-time. After competing in three Rugby World Cups, he played for the New York Athletic Club, where he helped lead the team to a National Club Championship and earned MVP honors in 2012. In 2010, he joined the Canberra Royals in Australia before continuing his international career in Italy with Mogliano from 2010 to 2011 and the Vincenza Rangers from 2012 to 2013. He later competed with Seattle RFC from 2013 to 2015 and played professionally in Major League Rugby and San Diego during the 2018 to 2019 seasons. After playing professionally in the U.S. and overseas, he returned to Jesuit as a coach, helping lead the Marauders to national championships in 2017 and 2019.

Michael RoseMike Rose '95 is being recognized for his outstanding baseball career. During his time at Jesuit, Rose set records in his junior and senior year for hits, RBIs, pitching, and strikeouts. He was called "the prominent high school prospect in the Sacramento area." After leading Jesuit to a Section Championship, Rose was drafted by the Houston Astros in the fifth round of the 1995 MLB draft. He went on to play for the Oakland A's, Los Angeles Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals, as well as the hometown Sacramento River Cats, where he became a fan favorite, batting .274 with 14 HRs and 79 RBIs. Rose was selected for three Minor League All-Star teams and contributed to four championship-winning seasons.

Dr. Fred Khasigian
Dr. Fred Khasigian '66's athletics and academic achievements are as impressive as they are diverse. A football standout at the University of Southern California who helped win a national championship in 1969, Khasigian later became a highly respected orthopedic surgeon. He earned All-Pacific Coast honors in both 1968 and 1969 and was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1969. During his collegiate career, he was a two-time First Team All-PAC-8 selection and helped his team capture three PAC-8 conference titles and three Rose Bowl victories. In 1997, he founded Jesuit's rugby program and went on to coach the Marauders to seven national championships and 11 state championships. Beyond the field, Khasigian continued to excel, earning his medical degree from USC in 1974 and later completing his MBA at California State University, Sacramento in 2003. In his distinguished medical career, Khasigian has served as a clinical professor at the University of California, Davis, chaired the Orthopedic Surgery Division, and sat on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation.

Dan Carmazzi

Former head football coach Dan Carmazzi is also part of this year's class. Over 31 seasons, Carmazzi led Jesuit to 230 wins, 13 league championships, and two section championships. Named CIF 2004 State Model Coach, he developed dozens of collegiate athletes and coached multiple future NFL players, including Isaiah Frey '08, Ferric Collons '87, and quarterbacks Ken O'Brien '78, Gio Carmazzi '95, and J.T. O'Sullivan '97. Carmazzi played football and basketball at Christian Brothers High School, winning a Metro League title his senior year. From 1971 to 1975, Carmazzi was the starting quarterback for UC Davis' football team. During this time, the Aggies won three conference championships.

Jesuit High School looks forward to honoring these remarkable athletes, coaches, and teams at the 2025 Hall of Fame celebration. Each inductee represents a legacy of achievement, leadership, and the Jesuit ideal of being Men for Others.
