Sacramento, CA – For the first time in program history, the Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity volleyball team has been invited to compete in the elite Clash of Titans Volleyball Tournament, taking place April 10 -11 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The invitation-only tournament brings together eight of the top high school boys' volleyball programs in the nation, marking a significant milestone for the Jesuit Marauders ascent on the national stage. Held in the Hemmeter Fieldhouse on the Punahou School campus, the event highlights elite local talent competing against top mainland programs.
Currently, the Jesuit Marauders are ranked No. 13 in the nation and No. 1 in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. Led by Head Coach Joey Elftmann '00 and Assistant Coach Prima Glorioso, the team enters the tournament with momentum and a reputation as one of California's premier programs. Competing against the country's best will provide a high-level test and an opportunity to showcase the program's growth and talent on a national platform.
"It's an honor to be invited to compete in the Clash of the Titans tournament. It's a testament to the hard work, discipline, and commitment of our student-athletes and coaching staff," said Head Coach Joey Elftmann '00. "We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished this season. Now it's time to compete against the best of the best. When we return from the trip, we're excited to turn our attention towards the CIF Saq-Joaquin Section playoffs, where the local competition will continue to get more intense."
The Clash of Titans tournament is widely regarded as one of the most competitive high school volleyball events in the United States. The Marauders will field a team comprising six seniors, seven juniors, and one sophomore.
"This is our first time being invited, and it's an honor to be one of eight teams," said Team Captain Naryan Banerjee '27. "We're playing well, and it will be a great experience, one that will also help prepare us for our CIF section playoffs."
Jesuit looks forward to competing on the national stage and representing the Sac-Joaquin Section with pride. The experience gained in Hawaii is expected to strengthen the team further as it prepares for a postseason run.
