Jesuit High School alumnus Daniel Susac '20 has recently joined the San Francisco Giants, marking an exciting moment for the Sacramento-area baseball community. Susac was acquired by the Giants on Dec. 10, 2025, after being selected by the Minnesota Twins in the Rule 5 Draft and immediately traded to San Francisco, where he is expected to compete for a major league roster spot.
A standout catcher and former Jesuit Marauder, Susac was originally a first-round pick (19th overall) by the Oakland Athletics in the 2022 MLB Draft following a stellar college career at the University of Arizona. His professional resume includes strong offensive numbers at Triple-A Las Vegas in 2025, where he hit .275 with 18 home runs and 68 RBIs.
Susac's arrival in San Francisco continues a family connection to the Giants. His older brother, Andrew Susac '11, was a second-round pick in 2011 who served as Buster Posey's backup and played on the Giants' 2014 World Series championship team.
From his Jesuit roots to the brink of a major league role, Daniel Susac's journey reflects both local pride and lasting ties to his high school community as he steps into the next chapter of his baseball career.
