Playoff Fever in Full Swing for Marauder Sports!
WATER POLO:
The Marauders started strong in their quarterfinal matchup against new league opponent Granite Bay, taking a 7-4 lead by halftime. Granite Bay fought back to tie the score at 9, making it a close game like their two regular-season matchups, which both went into overtime. Jesuit pulled ahead with key goals from Rowan Taggatz '25 and Sam Branco 25, supported by excellent goalkeeping from Patrick Bratset '25. With an 11-9 win, Jesuit advances to the semifinals this Wednesday to face Rio Americano at American River College at 5:30 p.m.
CROSS COUNTRY:
The Marauders are set to chase another Section Title under Coach Walt Lange's legendary leadership this Saturday at Willow Hill in Folsom. Following a stellar regular season that included a first-place finish at the Nike Portland Invitational and the program's first-ever Sierra Foothill League title, this team aims to carry on the legacy of Marauder Cross Country excellence.
FOOTBALL:
The Marauders kicked off their first home playoff game under the lights last Friday with a decisive 42-14 win over Lodi. They jumped out to an early 21-0 lead, allowing everyone to get valuable playoff experience. Up next, they'll take on the Grant Pacers in the quarterfinals this Friday at 7 p.m. at Grant Union High School.
